Blacksmithing Courses Terms and Conditions
1. Health and Safety
All students must adhere to the health and safety guidelines and instructions provided by the course instructor.
Eye protection must be worn at all times while inside the workshop and safety glasses will be provided upon arrival.
Other safety equipment, including ear defenders, gloves, and aprons, will be provided to students and usage will be advised during certain activities.
2. Assumption of Risk
By enrolling in this blacksmithing course, students acknowledge the inherent risks associated with working near hot fires, molten metal, and hazardous materials.
Students accept full responsibility for their own safety and assume all risks involved in participating in this course.
3. Safety Introduction
All students will receive a safety induction at the commencement of the course, including an overview of potential hazards and safety protocols.
It is mandatory for all students to attend and actively participate in this safety induction.
4. Liability
The course organisers, instructors, and the facility hosting the course shall not be liable for any injuries, accidents, or damages incurred by students during the course.
Students are encouraged to obtain their own insurance coverage, such as personal injury insurance or liability insurance, to safeguard themselves from potential financial burdens resulting from accidents or injuries.
5. Safety Conduct
Students must act responsibly and follow all safety instructions and guidelines provided by the instructor.
Reckless or irresponsible behaviour, such as horseplay, misuse of equipment, or disregard for safety rules, may result in immediate expulsion from the course without a refund.
6. Medical Conditions
Students are responsible for informing the course organisers and instructors of any medical conditions, allergies, or physical limitations that may affect their ability to safely participate in the course.
It is the student's responsibility to manage their medical conditions and medications while participating in the course.
7. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
All students must wear the provided or approved personal protective equipment at all times during the course.
Students are responsible for ensuring that their PPE is in good condition and worn correctly.
8. Age and Supervision
The minimum age for participation in the course is [minimum age]. Students below this age must be accompanied by a responsible adult who is also enrolled in the course.
9. Use of Hazardous Materials
Students must use hazardous materials (e.g., chemicals, fuels, and metals) in line with safety guidelines and under the supervision of the instructor.
